    What makes us different

    We fixed the boring parts.

Most group trips go silent on the bus. Twelve people, twelve screens, and the trip only starts at the destination. Ours starts at the coffee before the bus.

    1. 01

      Coffee before the bus

Fifteen to twenty minutes at a café near the pickup point. Faces and names before you share a row of seats for ten hours.

    2. 02

      A ride with no screens

Find the impostor, a mystery round, a playlist the whole group builds, and a guitar if someone brings one. The overnight ride becomes the first night of the trip.

    3. 03

      One long table

We pick stays with their own kitchens, so dinner is one table and one conversation, not twelve separate orders.

    4. 04

      Free time that is yours

Plans for the group, gaps for you. Skip an activity, find a café, rejoin for dinner. Nobody counts heads at the viewpoint.

    Our story

    We travel like this ourselves.

Backpack India is a small team of friends who kept travelling the same way: often solo, always ending up in a group by the second night. The photos above are ours, from the walk through the Siq to Petra’s Treasury.

So we plan the trips we would want to join. Small groups. Stays where people actually talk. Routes we have checked. And the parts of group travel that usually go wrong, the awkward first hour, the silent bus, the dinner where nobody knows anyone, designed out from the start.

    Questions people ask first.

Can I come on my own?

Yes, and most people do. Trips are built for solo travellers: a coffee meetup before departure, shared meals and games on the road mean you know names before the first stop. Coming with a friend works too; tell us and we will plan rooms accordingly.

    How big are the groups?

Small. Usually 12 to 16 people, sized to one vehicle so everyone travels together.

What does the Dharamkot trip cost?

Our current estimate is ₹12,000 to 13,000 per person from Delhi, covering the AC traveller both ways, stays, the camp night and listed meals. The exact price is confirmed on the call before you pay.

How do I book and pay?

Send an enquiry. You get a WhatsApp reply straight away and a call the next day. If the trip fits, we share the payment details on WhatsApp and your seat is held once payment is received.

What kind of stays are they?

Clean, well-reviewed hostels and guesthouses, usually with their own kitchen or restaurant so the group eats together. Room types and sharing arrangements are listed with each final itinerary. Every stay is checked against the same minimum standard.

What happens if the weather turns?

Mountain plans change with conditions. If a trail is not safe, a guided alternative replaces it. We never push a trek for the itinerary’s sake.

    What are the cancellation terms?

Payment and cancellation terms are shared in writing with each trip before you pay. Ask us for them on the call.

Do you arrange visas or insurance?

Not currently. For international trips, check the entry rules for your passport and buy travel insurance that covers the activities on the route. We will tell you what is needed.
